Nairn is famous for its two outstanding championship golf courses and the advent of Castle Stuart golf course which hosted the Scottish Open further reinforced its position as the top Highland golfing centre. The Curtis Cup and the European Tour Have recently come to the area.

All championship golf courses - Nairn Golf Club and Nairn Dunbar Golf Club nearby Castle Stuart and another 40 Highland Golf Courses within a short drive.

Nairn is an excellent base for exploring the Scottish Highlands. While enjoying your stay in Nairn why not also visit Culloden Battlefield and the 5000 year old Clava Stones, or Fort George, Cawdor Castle and Brodie Castle? Or indeed the many other castles in the area. To the West Inverness is a short  journey away and further on to Urquhart Castle on Loch Ness and the Fort Augustus's Neptune's Staircase. To the South into the heart of the Highlands is Grantown on Spey and the Strathspey Railway to Aviemore with its Winter ski-ing and funicular railway. All within the Cairngorm National Park - famous for walking, climbing, cycling and canoeing,

Enjoy a day on Nairn's marvellous sandy beach - and perhaps see the  Moray Firth dolphins. There are great beaches in and around Nairn!

Nairn is also a great base for walking in Nairn and Forres, the Dava Way or try off-road cycling. There is a leaflet for local walks available from the tourist information centre.

Or perhaps a more relaxed fishing or bird watching holiday? There are 5 salmon rivers in the area, The Ness, Nairn, Spey, Lossie and Deveron and lots of trout fishing around the area.

Or the VERY relaxed Whisky trail - starts not far away and who knows where it leads.....
